How to Add a Site

Adding a website to your GinzaMetrics account can be done in five minutes or less with five simple steps! When you create your GinzaMetrics account you should be prompted to visit our onboarding wizard.

Note: If you’re looking to add additional sites to your existing account, simply login to your account dashboard and click the green “New Site” button in the top right corner.

1. Domain

The first step in adding a site is adding the domain you want to track.

You can enter URLs in a variety of different ways:

  • domain.com – This will act as a “wild card” and match all subdomains associated with that URL
  • www.domain.com – This entry limits results to www. pages only
  • sub.domain.com – This will allow you to track specific subdomains as desired
  • www.domain.com/folder – This entry will only show data for matching folder names

Note that you can add your site domain as well as subdomains and folders all in one account to compare individual performance.

2. Location

Now that you have entered a domain, you will need to choose a location to target for this site. Based on your location choice, GinzaMetrics will automatically identify the top three search engines in that country and monitor your keywords on those engines.

If you would like to monitor a site across different locations, you may repeat this process, selecting a different target location each time.

3. Analytics

Next you will need to select your analytics provider. GinzaMetrics offers support for a variety of analytics options including:

Google Analytics
Omniture SiteCatalyst
Webtrends
CoreMetrics

You may be prompted to allow GinzaMetrics to access your analytics. Once you have allowed access you will be able to continue.

You may also need to select a site profile or confirm your analytics vendor connection. Follow the prompts for your chosen analytics provider and then click “Save & Continue.”

4. Keywords

Your next step is to add keywords to track for your site. These will be the words and topics that you monitor to understand what your target audience is searching for and how it contributes traffic to your brand.

GinzaMetrics offers you a number of ways to add keywords to your account. They include:

Importing keywords from your analytics provider. For example, Google Analytics will import any keywords that have driven traffic to your site over the past 30 days.

Add Website Keywords

Another option is to add keywords by typing them into the box provided in the “Add” tab. You will need to add at least five keywords to get started and can add more as you like.

GinzaMetrics also offers Automated Keyword Management. This option lets GinzaMetrics manage keywords for you, based on rules you will define. Use the wizard to create settings and then GinzaMetrics will automatically import traffic-driving keywords and manage.
